Prologue 1
Bad Blood, into the wall of fire… –Matthew Good Band
Before
Alucard could answer about my fuku, another one of Dracula servants leaped out
of the void. His skin was green, yet his eyes were like ember as he stood right
in front of us…a full-grown fire demon.
The demon
glanced towards us. Then it slowly headed towards our direction. It halted for a
few steps as it unleashed a blaze of fire from its’ chest-cave.
Both of us
quickly dodged that attack almost like a quick reflex.
“It is a
slow attacker!!!” I yelled out, “If we move quickly, there can be a good
chance to beat him!!”
“You seem
to be well in giving out orders,” Alucard replied with a smirk, “let’s now
see how you manage to handle them.”
“Right sir.
Could you please create a diversion for this beast?”
“Since you
kindly asked, I am eager to do so.”
And so he
did. He unleashed one of his cleverly tactical spells at the demon. When the
demon felt he was being attacked, he only focused of ridding Alucard. This is a
first time a guy…actually listened to me!!! I am kind of startled…but this
wasn’t a time to try to have some admiration for a guy I only met three days
ago!!!
I quickly
grabbed onto the whip, raise my right arm back, and hurled the power of the whip
towards the demon. I saw this move in movies. I hope that I preformed well.
As the demon headed towards Alucard, the whip wrapped itself on the demon’s neck. I gripped
onto my whip as I started to pull on it. The demon growled and then quickly
paced his claws onto the whip, wincing in pain. I kept pulling onto the whip
since it caused my hold on the demon to grow tighter. I waited for the creature
to die of self-suffocating.
“So this is
how you fight?” Alucard question glancing at my style, “Perhaps you do need
more training than I expected.”
“I can’t
use my fire magic,” I replied as I focus on the demon, “this is the best I
can do right now.”
But the demon
tried another way of escaping death…he began to run strait towards Alucard!!!
And with that quick sudden movement, I was taken along for the ride. This was
just as bad as someone trying to hogtie a prime steer.
“Sir!!!!!”
I cried out as I am being dragged across the floor, “I might need your
assistance, please help me sir!!!”
“I am sorry
young Belmont,” Alucard responded, “but I can not interfere with your training. You should have know better than to
try to strangle a demon.”
“What?”
I couldn’t
believe it!!! Alucard was going to let me be dragged across this dimension until
the demon tired him self. I kept holding onto the whip since it was the only
thing I can do.
“Sir…”
I said as I tried to get a glance at him, “you’re so mean!!!!!”
He then
turned his back on me, almost as he was trying to avoid my pleas on anger and
aid. Some gentleman!
Prologue 2
Servants
awaited his or her instructions patiently as the lord of this castle gazed into
a doorway through the world of light while sitting on his throne. He did try to
walk through this doorway, but failed miserably since his skin would instantly
burn to a crisp.
He would
curse, but he had found other options. He could send his servants to do his
dirty work for him. Soon, soon when his curse was lifted, he wouldn’t be
watching the realm of light…he will turn it into darkness.
And the
only way to get rid of the one who placed this curse on him…The Belmont Child.
But gazing
into the portal did have its moments. He is now watching on how the young
Belmont is handling not even one of his most power servants. He slightly
chuckled.
“So,” the
count said, “this is what the young Belmont can do? She is awfully
pathetic.”
The servants
shook their heads, while others jostle some remarks on the young Belmont.
“Yes,”
the dark priest responded as he bowed forward to the Count, “it seems that
your son is too late.”
“Yet…”
the count growled, “I am tired of waiting!! Waiting while the Belmont has a
good excuse not to show up!! I’ve waited 200 years for this day to come! When
I wait in this cursed prison, the pain returns and the pleasure of revenge will
be mine!!!!”
“It will
come, my lord.”
“I’ll let
those two enter the castle…I doubt they’ll make it on their own.”
“But,
you’re letting the Belmont enter the castle easily!!”
“Exactly.
Of course I would like mortals wince in pain while trying to do it the hard way,
but they adore when things are done easily and painless. They’re as stupid as
begging dogs, easily pleased when they are granted some treat.”
“So it
seems…”
“This way
it would be easy for the both of us. And the sooner the last drop of the Belmont
bloodline is in my grasp…the sooner I can turn this mortal realm into eternal
darkness.”
“Yes
sir…”
The priest
bowed again to the Count as he returned to the shadows of where the servants
roam. The era of darkness was coming…and there was no hope for mankind to
survive from the aftermath.
***
The demon
continued to run. It can only move forward, never backwards. My body was
starting to get some bruises. Maybe I’m not the one…my foster mom tried to
kill me and everyone hates me. Perhaps, I am destined to….
Get a grip on
yourself YingGirl!!!!! Caramel didn’t give you the locket!! You taken it from
her!!! Alucard didn’t give you the whip!!! You’ve placed the whip in your
own hands!!!! You made these decisions on your own, YingGirl.
Now it’s time to show who is boss around here. Quit getting yourself
trampled all the time!!
I shook my
head. Now, I know what I must do. I began to climb onto the whip…it wasn’t
easy since the demon was constantly on the move. I then had to keep one hand
onto the whip while the other managed to pull out a dagger from my jacket.
The demon
growled, since I was applying more pressure onto the whip. He then realized of
the extra weight he was dragging along with him. He was going to turn around and
burn me to a crisp!!
I had no
other choice but to lunge at the demon and drive the dagger strait in his neck.
I even twisted the dagger to bring out more pain onto the demon.
He gave out
one last cry as he slumped to the ground. I then pulled my whip away from the
corpse. I didn’t want to speak. I was angry and confused. Why the hell
wouldn’t Alucard help me? I did ask for his assitance in a nice manner.
“You’re
too young,” Alucard muttered, as he was annoyed with my performance, “to
fight the final battle.”
I caught
those words. Almost like someone backstab me literally.
“The final
battle?” I questioned as I tried not to look back.
“Yes,”
Alucard replied, “there is a little defect in his curse. If all but one hunter
remains, and he is slain by that single hunter…he will rest forever in his
eternal darkness.”
“Eternal
Darkness? That seems a little cruel…”
“Yet, if
the last hunter is slain by him…he will become the True Immortal. He will gain
the powers of a dumpeal, and light will cease to exist. The race of mortals will
perish and all signs of hope will cease to exist.”
“What?!!”
“I thought
I could take down my father, but apparently he placed a seal that not allows
anyone with vampiric blood to enter the castle. But there was a way to break the
seal…a chosen one who is destined to venture into the castle, the Belmont.”
“So
that’s why you needed me…”
“I’ve
been searching for hunters, only to realize my father’s servants got there
earlier. I was almost about to give up until a few years ago.”
“A few
years ago?”
“Yes. Around that time, I have
stumbled upon one of the servants who got rid of Lecarde. I entered the house,
disguise as a police officer, hoping to save his life. I was too late. He was
dead.”
“No…”
“All
that endless searching for nothing. I was about to give up….”
“Give
up?”
“Until,
someone else entered the household. She was around 13 or 14, holding the whip. I
recognized the whip since only members of the Belmont clan have passed it on
from generation to generation. I turned around to see who it was…and that’s
how I first met you.”
There
was a silence. I didn’t know what to say or do. I felt like I could smack
him…but I didn’t have the strength to do it. The memories flowed into my
head once again. Visions of my foster father lying in a pool of blood started to
torment my soul once again. I wanted to scream, rush to him, or do anything to
help him!!!!
But I was
scared. I was shivering, feeling almost paralysed. Why couldn’t I do
anything?!!! Ever since my foster dad died and the truth of my parents…it’s
been torturing me, never letting me in peace.
Maybe Alucard
is right. Maybe I’m too young to fight this battle.
Then out of
nowhere, the castle appeared. It appeared right in front of us while its
presence of dark forces grew stronger and started to seep into the dimension.
Did killing the demon manage to give us this pathway?
“I’m
waiting Young Belmont,” a voice whispered, “I’m waiting for you….”
I felt
something passing by, a cold wind. Alucard seemed to notice it too. He was
studying the legendary castle that appears once in a hundred years. He knew
something wasn’t right in this strange atmosphere. Whatever it was, I had to
be ready. Even if it means I was going to loose my soul for it.
***
“So the
Belmont has finally appeared,” the dark priest said.
“Yes,”
the count replied, “but I sense something unusual about this one.”
“She has
lost her training, but knows her duties. May I be of service to get rid of these
intruders right away?”
“No…let
them live for a while. They’re bound to die anyways.”
“But what
about your kin? He will cause quite a disturbance.”
“Yes. Those
two must be separated as soon as possible. Make sure you don’t fail on
this.”
“Of course,
my lord.”
The priest
stood up as he faced the count. Yet someone was watching and hearing the entire
conversation. He stood there patiently as he awaited his next orders, for he
will be the one willing to test the young Belmont first.
***
The castle
stood right in front of us? But how? And why? I had a bad feeling. The darkness
was coming close and I almost felt like someone was calling out to me…but who
or what was it?
“So you
recognized this castle?” Alucard asked as he looked at me.
“It’s the castle of the
infamous ruler of Vlad the Impaler,” I replied as I held onto my whip,
“I’ve read about it in many books that deal with vampirism. I sometimes
dreamt of the day when I see this castle on my own. Who knew that one day I must
go see this castle?”
“And I
thought you were not that bright.”
“Hey!!! I
may be physically weak, but my mental abilities can take down anything. I did
manage to get rid of that demon thing, did I?”
“Only
because you realize that I wouldn’t aid you. If you try to rely on me most of
the time, you’ll end up dead.”
“But
we’re partners!!!”
“P-partners?”
“Yep. You
need my help to enter the castle and I need your help in training me to defeat
the count. I forgive you for not aiding me. But next time when I ask, can you
please give some assistance?”
He sighed. I
looked at him. I guess he didn’t want to answer my question. He is part of
this supreme ruler of darkness…he is a half vampire.
But why would
Alucard go against his father? If I had one, I sure would try to work things out
with him. I mean; I just wouldn’t rebel against him if I had any good reason
too. I guess some teenagers have there own ways of trying to get some attention
from their parents.
I wouldn’t
know. My foster parents are dead and I don’t about my real ones.
He then
looked back at the castle.
“This
castle is a mere creation of chaos,” Alucard said as he kept his eyes on the
castle, “each time it has appeared, it has given out a different shape.”
“That is
the castle all right,” I replied as I gazed upon it as well, “it is time to
face my destiny.”
Then, a soft
laughter was being heard. It seemed to come right in front of us when it sounded
like it was all around us. I looked around to see who or what it was. I wasn’t
prepared for what task lies ahead.
Floating the
fogy night lie right ahead of us a ghastly figure. He was embodied in one of the
finest black hooded robes. He carried a death-scythe in one hand as his other
rested at his side. His face was nothing but a pale human skull. It looked like
someone just has polished it.
Alucard then
pushed me aside as he glanced at the visitor. I wonder why?
“Get away
from this Belmont,” Alucard sneered as he stared at the ghastly figure, “she
isn’t ready.”
“But Young
Master,” the figure replied as he bowed, “you do need the Belmont to be able
to enter this castle. And I have orders to make your task much more
challenging.”
“If you
dare hurt or touch this Belmont….”
“No. The
master does not want to meet this young Belmont…yet. He has other plans for
you two.” The figure began to point his finger at Alucard. I had a bad feeling
about this, like he was going to attack him.
“Other
plans?” Alucard questioned as he felt a bit confused, “What plans does my
father have in store for the young Belmont?”
“You’ll
see Young Master,” the figure grinned as stared back at Alucard, “you’ll
soon be a part of them.”
“What?!!”
Alucard then quickly tried to avoid…but it was too late.
The ghastly
figure had unleashed its attack. I backed away quickly to avoid it. As I turned
around to see what has happened, the same feeling has
paralyzed my body once again. I could only watch…
The visitor encased Alucard in a glass prison. It was horrible. His face
of shock was forever immortalized in that glass prison, almost like a fly
imprisoned in amber. He seemed like a lifeless statue that never had a chance to
live up to his own expectations.
“SIR!!!!!”
I yelled from the top of my lungs, “Sir!!! Please!!! Answer me!!!”
“He can’t
hear you Young Belmont,” the figure spoke as it looked at me, “he is trapped
in your curse.”
I turned
around to look at the visitor. He was almost like the rider in the Death Card.
He is the Angel of Death.
“My
curse?” I asked.
“The
curse you placed on my great master,” the figure responded, “he’s getting
his sweet revenge on you…the final member of the Belmont clan. You are the
last vampire hunter there is.”
“Last
Vampire Hunter?”
“But
the master had decided to make this more interesting. If you can find your
friend and free him from the castle when the hour strikes midnight, no harm will
come to him. But if you fail, he will become as fine general to the master’s
armies.”
“No…”
The
figure laughed as he began to fade away, along with Alucard too!!! I couldn’t
let Alucard go away!! We haven’t known each other…this can’t be the end!!
Not now!!!!
It won’t be
the end!!! I unleashed my whip in order to get a hold at the glass prison, but
the second my whip was about to reach them…they both disappeared.
I fell on my
knees. Now…all my friends are truly gone. I wanted to cry. I wanted to run
towards some that could hold me close.
But I
couldn’t, and this wasn’t the time.
I started to
gain my confidence while I was getting back on my feet. I looked upon the
castle…the only thing that was standing between my destiny and me. The doors
were wide open as if they were showing me the way. My bloodline entered this
castle fearlessly in order to protect something more valuable than their lives.
This was my choice. I couldn’t back out on it…everyone is depending on me to
succeed.
Without any
thought or doubts…I entered the castle alone.
TO BE CONTINUED.
